This weekend, when you're in line at the grocery store with your Lunchables and Diet Coke, try to ignore the cover of the latest National Enquirer, which screams, "Neil Patrick Harris calls off gay wedding."
Leaving aside that "wedding" doesn't need a qualifier in front of it, the tab claims the star's nearly decade-long relationship with fiancé David Burtka has hit the skids.
"They're barely speaking," alleges an insider, "and as of now, there's no wedding in the immediate future."
NPH, however, says that ridiculous.
"The Nat Enq is cray cray," he tweeted on Wednesday night. "We've never had a wedding date, just engaged (Prop 8 and all)."
What's more, the parents of 2-year-old twins Harper and Gideon are so simpatico that they've willingly trapped themselves on a floating hotel.
"We're on a cruise as I write," adds Harris. "He's rad. All good."
According to the Enquirer, the twosome had a "vicious lovers' spat" last month on the way to an industry bash.
"They walked into the party mad at each other," contends an insider. "They both threw back a couple of whiskeys, and that only made things worse. … Neil's still mad and David is terrified he’s going to lose him."
Harris, 39, confirmed his engagement to Burtka, 37, in June 2011, explaining, "David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago! We've been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date."
