Romance Report: Madonna May Meet the Parents and More ...
![Depending on which source you believe, Madonna either sees Jesus Luz as the love of her life or an errand boy she showers with guilt-edged gifts. But does she value her slice-of-vealcake squeeze enough to try to win over his family? The London Sun claims the Big M, 51, has winged into Brazil for a confab with Jesus' folks, a visit that supposedly has her slightly on edge. Maybe that's because the purported pop-by has resurrected those pesky knot-tying rumors, which have been repeatedly and emphatically denied (I think I'd rather get run over by a train, the former Mrs. Guy Ritchie and Mrs. Sean Penn recently told David Letterman of her desire to remarry). Madonna really does love and need Jesus -- and she does not hold all the power in their relationship. He grew up with strong Christian beliefs, contends a source. He wants to marry and be taken seriously. She doesn't want to lose Jesus and so the visit to his parents is her way of saying she will make this relationship permanent. Or it's just her way of saying olá while she's in Rio de Janeiro on a long-planned charitable mission. I am going there strictly for fund raising and humanitarian purposes, Madonna tells the New York Post. At least the Sun's snitch is good for a laugh, concluding with this far-fetched howler: [Jesus] wants proof of commitment, and he wants her to make an honest man of him. Katy Has Changed My Life, Rhapsodizes Russell
Remember a few weeks ago when Katy Perry surprised Russell Brand by picking him up at LAX? He returned the favor in London on Friday by greeting her at the airport as she flew in from Berlin, where she hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards (and paid tribute to her beau of two months on her backside). According to the London Daily Mail, the shaggy funnyman appeared charmingly nervous before her arrival, checking his shaggy mane in a mirror and nibbling his nails. He didn't have to worry. The popster offered Brand a very warm welcome (yes, tongue was involved), and he later showed his little-seen chivalrous side by carrying her bags to the car and presenting her with a gift. No wonder Perry has already made the confident move of introducing him to her evangelical pastor parents. "I've had the privilege of meeting Katy's family. I always get along with spiritual people," says Russell (via OK!). "For me the things that happen on a higher level are more important than transient things." Speaking of transient things, the once busy bed-hopper suddenly seems content with being a one-woman-at-a-time kind of guy. "When one is in a relationship one respects the restrictions that imposes," Brand explains. "That's the point of being in a relationship." Katy, he enthuses, "has certainly been a catalyst in changing my life ... All I know is that I have met someone who I like and makes me happy. I am very much fulfilled."

Beyoncé and Jay-Z Extend Invite to the Stork
Are we the only ones who prefer that couples keep their procreation plans to themselves, mainly because we don't want to picture them doing the deed that will result in said baby? OK, just us, then. Anyway, during an interview with Gotham magazine, Jay-Z, 39, reportedly revealed that the "most important thing on the horizon" is his plan to knock up Beyoncé. Here's hoping he's filled his missus in on his intentions, since she has been a mite vague on the stork issue. "One day, maybe," the chanteuse, 28, told Ellen DeGeneres last year. In April, she admitted on "The View" that she was waiting for the right time. "I definitely want one," declared Bey, "but I'm not ready for all of that." One reason for her hesitation: witnessing sister Solange give birth in 2004. "I'm terrified of delivering a child because I saw my nephew being born," she fessed up in the January issue of Elle. "That traumatized me."

Retro Hookup Rumor: Paula and Arsenio Reconnecting?
Warning: The following item on Paula Abdul and Arsenio Hall will contain no references to opposites attracting, the smooth moves of MC Skat Kat or how the talk show format never fully recovered after "woof woof woof!" fell out of favor. Now that we have that out of the way, the rumor mill is a-cranking with whispers that the plenty-o-free-time-having twosome has reconnected 20 years after they first dated. If you believe the National Enquirer (hey, no judgment), Arsenio gave Paula a jingle after her "American Idol" exit to offer a sympathetic ear. "One phone call led to another," alleges a mole, "and the next thing you know, they were making a date." Still, reminiscing about how cool it was that David Fincher directed Paula's 1988 "Straight Up" video, in which Hall makes a cameo, can only take two people so far. "Who knows where this is going?'' an Abdul insider downplays to the Chicago Sun-Times. "But for now, they appear to be having a nice old time." More like nice and friendly, with the emphasis on the friend part. "We are friends for life, and we love hanging out and laughing together," Arsenio tells "Access Hollywood," "but we are not involved romantically."

'Incredible' Mel Pampers His Tot
Mel Gibson is getting a public relations makeover courtesy of girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. The plush-lipped Russian warbler, 39, gushes to Hello! magazine that the image-dinged Oscar winner is "incredible" and "very hands-on" with their newborn daughter, Lucia Anne, who made her debut on Oct. 30, a month ahead of schedule. "He has been very doting and nurturing," she says, kvelling that Mel, 53, even changes diapers, a task he's probably pretty good at considering he's been through the bundle of poopy-pantsed joy process seven times before with estranged wife Robyn. "He is ecstatic," bubbles Oksana. "He is very much in love with her already. She just wins people's hearts, she's so beautiful and tiny." Meanwhile, Grigorieva may soon mine her motherhood experiences for professional purposes. "I'm speaking Russian and English and singing lullabies in both," she says. "She has been an inspiration already. I'm composing a children's song book."

Demi: Ashton's Love Makes Me a Better Person
It's more than just a shared love of compulsive Twittering that binds Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher together. "The most overwhelming part of meeting someone that you already felt you had such a deep and old connection with is that your feelings are greater than the time you've had to actually be with one another," the Kabbalah-devoted actress, who turns 47 this week, postulates to W magazine. "Now we've had the physical time together. The love he has for me makes me a better person by giving me the courage to take risks. I can fail and have someone who loves me just the same. I never knew it was quite possible." That said, her name on the big screen will remain the same. "As a married woman, I am and will always be Mrs. Kutcher," she explains. "But I have my career as Demi Moore." She also resists being categorized by the uncomplimentary cougar tag just because she married someone 16 years her junior. Says the former Mrs. Bruce Willis, "I'd prefer to be called a puma." Be sure to read lots more from Demi's W interview here.
