This season finale of "The Bachelorette" is touted as not following the same path as previous seasons, which makes it unclear if Ali Fedotowsky presents the final rose to either Chris L. or Roberto, or maybe picks no one at all and walks away alone.
After sorting through the 25 bachelors who began the journey with Ali, she is down to the final two, but does either one of them truly hold her heart? Or would her final choice have been Frank, if he had not brought her to tears when he told her he still had feelings for his ex-girlfriend and left her heartbroken in Tahiti?
On Monday night, as Ali gets ready to make this most difficult decision, she introduces both Chris -- whose relationship with Ali grew slowly -- and Roberto -- who was hot and heavy with Ali from the beginning, having won the First Impression rose on night one -- to her family in Bora Bora.
When Ali's family finds out that Chris L. is from Massachusetts, he is an immediate hit. They, like Ali, are taken by his devotion to his family. Then, in an old-fashioned, but time-honored tradition, he asks Ali's dad for her hand.
Ali's two dates are a contrast, just as her relationship with the two men differs. Her time with Roberto is spent jet skiing, swimming and picnicking. But her date with Chris L. is emotional and takes a surprising turn.
After Ali makes her final decision, she and host Chris Harrison sit down for the hourlong special, "After the Final Rose," in which they handicap the entire season and Ali reveals what led her to making her final decision. In addition, Chris L. and Roberto return to talk about the surprising outcome.
"The Bachelorette" finale airs Monday, Aug. 2 at 8 p.m. on ABC, immediately followed by "After the Final Rose."
