Europeans just not that into Katy Perry's coiffure?
Has Katy Perry's popularity faded overseas like so many highlights in need of a touch-up? According to TMZ, a British hair care company has filed a lawsuit over a $2 million paycheck she says she's owed. Perry already collected $4.5 million to promote the brand, and her agent insists she's owed the additional money after the contract was extended via oral agreement. Not so, claims the company, which alleges it didn't renew her contract because "market research shows Europeans just aren't that into her anymore." Katy's people had been threatening legal action, so the company apparently pulled the trigger first. Her rep fumes that the company's attempt "to embarrass Ms. Perry by including defamatory statements about her in a public filing is shameful." Adds Katy, "They're backing out of the deal because of an ownership change, and just throwing shade to hide their bad faith." Perry's people plan to sue if the company doesn't cough up the cash.
