Morgan Freeman Not Behind Anti-Media Message Following Sandy Hook Tragedy

After 26 students and teachers were murdered by a gunman in Connecticut on Friday, a long, anti-press message attributed to Morgan Freeman surfaced on social media sites. The rant trashed media outlets like CNN and Fox News for giving the gunman so much attention that he became a celebrity of sorts, and urged people to "turn off the news" in solidarity against such coverage. But a rep for Freeman says the actor had nothing to do with the online tirade, telling GossipCop: "The fact that he did not do this or had knowledge of [it] speaks volumes." (GossipCop)
