Last week, Chris O'Dowd -- aka the adorable cop whom Kristen Wiig torments mercilessly with her bad driving in "Bridesmaids" -- was reported to have called Michael Bay the A-word in reference to his decision to fire Megan Fox from "Transformers." "[It was] one of the [most] sexist things I've ever seen," O'Dowd said, according to the Toronto Star. "She called him an [insert A-word]. Well, he is a [bleeping] [bleep]. She's not the only one who has said that. Why has she been singled out?" Now, O'Dowd has made an about-face on his shining moment of movie biz chivalry by apologizing to the director. "I never called you an [insert another A-word; apparently Chris O'Dowd has a potty mouth]. For one, I don't know you, and secondly, in Ireland, we say 'arse,'" the actor asserted, rather hilariously. He went on: "I never called you sexist. I was quizzed as to why Megan Fox is considered such a nightmare to work with (which was not my experience when I worked with her twice this year), and what I actually said was,'The way the press gleefully dealt with the firing of a young woman was one of the most sexist things I've ever seen. … The dismissal of an old male actor would never have been welcomed with the same joy and ridicule."
