Without his signature scruff, Zach Galifianakis was nearly unrecognizable when he stepped out in New Orleans on Wednesday.

The "Hangover" actor, 42, traded in his bushy beard for a perfectly groomed handlebar mustache. Galifianakis recently finished production on his new comedy "Dog Fight," costarring Will Ferrell, Jason Sudeikis, Dan Aykroyd and John Lithgow.

It's not the first time Galifianakis has gone without his famous facial hair: he willingly shaved off his beard in 2010 for a "Saturday Night Live" sketch.
