Spending time in a courtroom is a rite of passage for celebrities, and every year, a select few even have the honor of getting cuffed by the cops. With charges from defamation to public inebriation, scroll through and check out which stars spent 2011 fighting the law.
Lindsay Lohan ended 2010 on a bad note by getting in a scuffle with a Betty Ford employee, but lucky Lindsay got out of that one in March, when prosecutors decided not to press charges. Always one to keep things interesting, Lohan found herself back in court in February, when she was convicted of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles jewelry store. She was sentenced to four months in jail, but miraculously traded that in for a 35-day house arrest gig. She had parties and even failed an alcohol test during that time, but somehow she's currently walking the streets as a free woman. She did spend four hours in jail on Nov. 7 for missing 14 out of her 19 court-mandated psychotherapy sessions and canceling 12 of her 20 self-appointed downtown women's center visits, but you can hardly count that as punishment. Good news! During a Dec. 14 hearing Lohan is praised by the judge for working 12 days at the morgue and completing five therapy sessions -- benchmarks set in a previous hearing. All that and a Playboy spread? What a month for Lindsay.
