Courtney Love Denies Twitter Tirade Over 'Gossip Girl' Starlet

Say what you will about Courtney Love, but the world (of crazy) would be a lot less interesting without her in it. The motormouthed, ever so slightly more robust-looking rocker is denying that she launched a Twitter attack against 16-year-old "Gossip Girl" starlet Taylor Momsen. Last week, Love reportedly tweeted, in her usual stream-of-unconsciousness way, "Why does Taylor Whatsit deeply disturb me ...? Shut the [bleep] up you overpriveliged [sic] bratty [bleep] that picked one [sic] every freak in high school mention my name again?" Oh-kay. Seems Momsen, who in her spare time fronts the rock band Pretty Reckless, recently made the mistake of commenting on comparisons between her ersatz peroxide punk rock 'do and Love's Hole-era look. But Courtney insists she wasn't behind the Twitter blitz. "Oh, I would NEVER pick on a little girl! No, no, no. Somebody [bleeping] ... I would never Twit THAT," she assures New York magazine. "I would never pick on a child. That's stupid. I've been around for a long time and she can [bleeping] ... I don't own blonde hair." Love, who is mom to 16-year-old Frances Bean, admits she's not familiar with the "Gossip Girl" goings-on, but is certain she wouldn't enjoy them. "I've never seen it. It strikes me as stuff about the Upper East Side that I wouldn't want my daughter to be around," sniffs Courtney, who is apparently in the process of moving to the Big Apple with Frances. "She watches it, I think. I mean, I think. She's familiar with aspects of it."

Gerard Butler Real Determined to Avoid 'Real' Housewife?

Sure, Gerard Butler was recently quoted as saying that it's "a shame" how social conventions prevent him from complimenting a woman if she has "great breasts," but such boorishness apparently doesn't mean he's without standards. The New York Daily News claims the actor rebuffed the advances of "Real Housewives of New York City" star (and alleged boyfriend smacker) Kelly Bensimon during a shindig last week. Word is, Bensimon exchanged digits with Butler back in June and was less than pleased to see him enjoying a tête-à-tête with "Damages" actress Rose Byrne at the bash. "Kelly blocked Gerard from speaking to Rose and was flirting up a storm," a spy alleges to the paper, "but he couldn't have seemed less interested." Butler, who has turned rumors of a romance with "Bounty" co-star Jennifer Aniston into a running gag while promoting "The Ugly Truth," reportedly returned to Byrne a little later and chatted her up for the rest of the night. Either way, it's not as if the burly Scottish star even knows what he's looking for in a woman (besides primo breasts, of course). "I couldn't actually tell you because it's different in each woman, but ... part of it is being smart and part of it is being dumb," he explains to FoxNews.com. "Sometimes along the way in my life, I don't want a smart woman right now, I want a dumb woman. But then you think, that doesn't work, now I want a smart woman. Then you get a smart woman and you go no, that doesn't work, so it's just killing me right now." Us, too, Gerry. Us, too.

Summertime or no, the living is usually easy for the stars, although a few A-listers have taken the current lazy, hazy days to the next level. Paparazzi caught the actor, 34, taking a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean, hanging with his pals, and checking out the topless talent during some serious R&R time on Tuesday. Leo has been embracing his bachelor status with gusto in the wake of his rumored split with model Bar Refaeli in June. His beachy, babe-filled holiday follows his rumored confab with a Pussycat Doll in London and shot session with a quartet of beauties in New York. Meanwhile, a mini "Ocean's" reunion is taking place at George Clooney's expansive Italian villa (what, your invite hasn't arrived yet?). On Tuesday, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and their respective clans were snapped boating around Lake Como. The host made himself scarce for the family-themed outing, but perhaps he was just busy snuggling up to new galpal Elisabetta Canalis, who joined him on a motorcycle ride earlier this week with friends Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.

Sienna Miller Admits, 'I Definitely Have Been Foolish'

"I probably seem like not a particularly nice person, not a girl's girl." That's Sienna Miller, showing some self-awareness in the pages of British GQ (via the London Daily Mail) regarding her much-maligned relationship with married father-of-four Balthazar Getty. The actress, who's currently out promoting the critic-avoiding "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," concedes it "probably looked awful," but says it's all too easy to judge her without knowing all the facts. "I do think sometimes people get morally superior without understanding situations," she explains. "And the situation I got into [with Getty] was not ideal but it happened and if I could go back and be more responsible, I would. Well, I probably would be less naive about ignoring the fact that people care ... I have a good brain on me, but I've never really used it when it came to making decisions about love, which has been a blessing and a curse." Sighs Sienna, "I definitely have been foolish. I've made apologies to people I needed to, but I can't apologize to people I don't know for things they don't understand." Miller claims she's now single, although she was spotted cavorting with Getty in Italy back in June. And despite her so-called "sexually manipulative" reputation, the starlet isn't going to change her MO when it comes to romance. "If I meet an actor, I'm not going to deny the feelings I have for him because it's going to be perceived in the wrong way," she declares. "How can anyone's head affect their heart? That's not in my make-up."
