As if it wasn't clear enough that Mindy McCready led a distressingly sad life, a porn company (an industry not typically known to overflow with compassion) has come along to drive the point home. Vivid Entertainment tells TMZ that it's indefinitely halting DVD distribution of footage featuring the country singer, who reportedly committed suicide on Sunday at age 37.
Vivid's "Baseball Mistress" video was originally released in 2010, after McCready's "Celebrity Rehab" stay, and shows her having sex with a then-boyfriend named Peter. She's also seen opening up about her purported affair with baseball star Roger Clemens. She denied authorizing sale of the footage.
"The situation surrounding Mindy's death is so tragic and sad," Vivid founder Steve Hirsch explains to E! News. "We decided to stop marketing her tape as a gesture of respect."
He also plans to pull digital copies from the Vivid website.
"This is a terrible thing for me," McCready told CBS News after the tape's release. "I am not going to sit here and tell you that I am not ridiculously upset about the whole situation."
In other McCready news, an Arkansas sheriff investigating the January death of McCready's boyfriend, David Wilson, denies reports that she was under suspicion.
Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss tells TMZ that Mindy was never suspected in Wilson's death from a gunshot to the head, and that she "never changed her story," despite rumors to the contrary.
