You know what Taylor Swift's songs have been missing? Allusions to Shakespeare. But that oversight may soon be rectified now that she's spending time with actor Douglas Booth, who stars in the latest big-screen adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet."
"They hired out a section of the pub out of sight, tucked away around the corner," relays a spy. "A member of staff was sitting outside, stopping customers from going near them. When they did come out, they were laughing and joking. They seemed like they were getting on brilliantly -- they seemed very close."
According to People, Swift and Booth were in the room alone and "looked very happy."
Another spy adds that they even accompanied each other to the rest room ("separate toilets, however," which, yeesh, we should hope so at this stage).
No word on how they met, but Booth stars in the tragic love story with Taylor's pal, Hailee Steinfeld, and the confessional chart-topper was on hand to support the film's Los Angeles premiere on Sept. 24 (photos at left).
So, is this a budding love connection? Can we look for to such lyrics as, "Deny thy father and refuse thy name/because this blood feud is totally lame"? Alas, insiders label the rendezvous as nothing more than a convivial meet-up.
"They are just good friends," a source pooh-poohs to E! News. "They are possibly working on a project together." Echoes Swift's rep to Metro, "They are friends."
