No wonder Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are pals: They are both willing to go above and beyond for their fans. Let's start with Taylor, who followed up last week's extended visit to a New York hospital by spending five hours visiting sick kids in Rhode Island.
The chart-topper, 24, and her father arrived without fanfare on Monday at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, where she met with patients and staff and performed for kids in the psychiatric unit (photo at left).
"A huge THANK YOU to the amazingly sweet and talented Taylor Swift who visited Hasbro Children's Hospital today!" the hospital wrote on Facebook. "It was such a special day for a lot of our kids, and we are so thankful to Taylor and her dad for choosing to spend their time with us and put smiles on so many faces!"
During her marathon visit, Taylor wrote messages of support, offered hugs, signed hospital gowns and took selfies with patients.
"She came in my room gave me a hug, and talked to me," gushed one fan. "She even called me awesome."
According to the hospital, this was the longest visit ever by a celebrity. Last year, Swift purchased a $17 million Rhode Island estate located about an hour from Hasbro.
