Not much was heard from Axl during the late '90s. His reclusive behavior earned him the title "Howard Hughes of rock." As rumor had it, he was working on a new album titled "Chinese Democracy." Then, on Feb. 10, 1998, he resurfaced when he was arrested and booked on a misdemeanor conduct charge for allegedly verbally abusing a security checkpoint employee at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona. But then, back into obscurity he went.
