Mary J. Blige 'brainstorming' fashion line

R&B star Mary J. Blige is stepping into the world of fashion -- she is "brainstorming" plans for her first clothing line.

Blige announced she is in the early phases of creating her own clothing brand as she chatted to reporters at a Giorgio Armani fashion show in China on Thursday.

The singer told Women's Wear Daily she will begin her range by designing shoes and boots, and later aims to release "great-fitting jeans."

Blige previously showed off her sartorial sense when she collaborated on a collection of charity T-shirts with French designer Catherine Malandrino. She also has a perfume line and a range of her own sunglasses called Melodies by MJB.
