Nas ordered to make $44K monthly payments to Kelis

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A judge has ordered Nas (NAHZ) to pay Kelis (kehl-EES') and their newborn child nearly $44,000 a month for the near future.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Louis Meisinger issued the order at a hearing on Thursday.

Kelis and Nas have been sparring over support payments for several months. Kelis contends Nas hasn't paid many of the costs of her pregnancy and her expenses.

Kelis gave birth to the boy, named Knight, at a New York hospital Wednesday. The 29-year-old "Milkshake" singer filed for divorce from the rapper in April.
