Nick Lachey on Vanessa Minnillo: We've "Patched Things Up"

Nick Lachey has reunited with ex Vanessa Minnillo -- and it feels so good.

"I am happy in a relationship," he said Thursday on "Good Day Philadelphia." "I was single for a minute there, and then we've kind of patched things up."

He gushed that, "She's a very smart girl. She's far smarter than I."

After nearly three years of dating, Lachey, 35, and Minnillo, 28, broke up in June, an insider told Usmagazine.com. By late August, they were spotted kissing, making out and dancing together at Los Angeles bar Dime.

Lachey told Us Weekly in September, "We're trying to figure things out. I don't pretend to know what the future holds, but everything's good. Vanessa's a good girl, and I care about her a lot."
