On the eighth day after the birth of a boy, the Jewish religion mandates that the child must be circumcised in a ceremony called a bris. With a little luck, the newborn won't remember a thing and will live a happy, healthy life in accordance with his religion. But you can bet your skivvies that a grown man who undergoes the painful removal of foreskin will have that memory to treasure for the rest of his life. Just ask Guy Ritchie: In a recent article about Kabbalah, the organization's co-founder, Karen Berg, casually mentioned that Madonna's faith is so strict that she "keeps a kosher home, she observes Shabbat, she circumcised her son and had her [ex-] husband circumcised."
