So, did you hear about how Jake Gyllenhaal supposedly bought Taylor Swift an $11,000 Fender Gretsch guitar signed by Chet Atkins to mark her 21st birthday? Only he didn't. Now, In Touch has upped the gift-giving ante with another dubious story about his alleged generosity, claiming he shelled out big bucks on a bracelet.
"It's an Oscar-worthy bracelet -- nearly 30 carats of colorless diamonds set in white gold," asserts a source. "It cost Jake about $100,000, but he wanted to do something special for Taylor's birthday." But wait, there's more. According to the tab, the actor commemorated his many (many) coffee dates with the sweetie-pie singer by satisfying her caffeine habit with "21 pounds of the best Kona coffee available, along with a coffee grinder and a coffeemaker."
The insider also shares this nugget: "And he made her a birthday card, as opposed to buying a generic one." Can't you just picture Jake with safety scissors, construction paper, glitter and Elmer's glue? Gyllenhaal's rep didn't respond to our request for comment on the spendy bracelet speculation, but we suggest taking this one with about 21 pounds of the best grains of salt available.
