Then I go home and I work for one hour on all the e-mails that come in overnight from L.A. The traditional television season ended Wednesday. Though that marker is losing its meaning with more fresh programming airing during the summer, it's still a good time to take stock on where the industry stands.

For the 10th time in 11 years, CBS was the nation's most-watched network, the Nielsen company said Thursday. CBS' margin of victory was wider than any other network in 24 years and it won among 18-to-49-year-old viewers, a group coveted by advertisers, for the first time in 21 years.

In prime time through May 19, CBS averaged 11.85 million viewers this season. ABC was its closest competitor, at a full 3 million viewers behind. Fox finished third and NBC was fourth, Nielsen said.

The "American Idol" streak of nine years as the nation's most popular television entertainment program ended this season. Its popularity had been sliding for the past few years — typical of most shows that have been on for a long time — but accelerated this year with a cast of judges that didn't click and the emergence of NBC's "The Voice" as a strong alternative.

No other show in television history has come close to such sustained dominance. Three other programs have had four-year reigns as the top program in household ratings: the comedy "I Love Lucy" in the 1950s, the western "Gunsmoke" heading into the 1960s and "The Bill Cosby Show" in the 1980s, Nielsen said.

The new No. 1 show depends on how you look at the ratings.

NBC's "Sunday Night Football" telecast is technically the narrow winner, but many in TV say that a live sports telecast should not count in the rankings. The Tuesday night CBS drama "NCIS" is the top program otherwise, its first win.

TV's top comedy is "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, averaging 15.6 million viewers per week. That's up from 9.4 million viewers during the 2008-09 season, a testament to how the show has grown in popularity with the help of reruns that air frequently on TBS and elsewhere.

The weakness of "American Idol" was the biggest factor in Fox's viewership dropping 20 percent from last season. Both ABC and NBC were down 6 percent, with ABC's drop slightly steeper among the youthful viewers that both networks aim for. CBS was up 1 percent, its ratings helped because this was the year it telecast the Super Bowl.

CBS officials said they still would have won among 18-to-49-year-old viewers even with the Super Bowl counted out. That's a particular point of pride for the network because their rivals often deride them for having the oldest audience in network TV.

CBS Corp. CEO Leslie Moonves had plenty to crow about last week when he appeared before advertisers to introduce the network's fall schedule.

"No matter how many times I tell our success story, I never get tired of it," Moonves said. "It just gets better and better."

The network's success breeds stability — 20 series were renewed for next season — and means only the very best of the new shows that it develops can find room on the schedule.

That will make CBS hard to beat in the next few years, said Brad Adgate, an analyst for Horizon Media. To unseat the network, CBS would have to see its schedule falter and a rival will need some unusually fruitful years in development, like when ABC introduced "Lost," ''Desperate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy" in the same year.

"I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future," Adgate said.

"[Stewart] went over with some friends," the insider tells Us. "They have some friends in common and hung out."

Court documents show the Internal Revenue Service filed a notice of a lien on the nine-time Grammy Award winner Feb. 7. That was two days before the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul was honored at a pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles.

Jurors sided with the real estate mogul-turned-TV showman in a weeklong civil trial focused on Jacqueline Goldberg's claim that Trump cheated her in a condo bait-and-switch scheme.

The federal jury in Chicago returned with a finding in Trump's favor. Goldberg, of Evanston, had sought various damages totaling around $6 million.

Goldberg herself showed little emotion but her attorney, Shelly Kulwin, slumped over and buried his head on a courtroom table. Trump's attorney Stephen Novack smiled and nodded his head in gratitude at the jury.

The case pitted the suburban Chicago woman against a New Yorker who revels in his image as a big talker with big ideas. Many know him best for his catchphrase on his "Apprentice" TV show: "You're fired!"

In sarcasm-filled closings, Kulwin described Trump in stark, extreme terms — as villainous and greedy. Trump wasn't in court, but Kulwin displayed a giant photograph of Trump.

"The thought of my grandma being in the same room with that guy. Yuck!" Kulwin boomed.

The dispute centered on the glitzy Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago, one of several showcase towers Trump has named after himself elsewhere, including New York, Las Vegas and Hawaii.

Goldberg accused Trump of wooing her into buying two condos at $1 million apiece in the mid-2000s by dangling a promise of share in building profits — then reneging on the promise after she committed to buying.

At trial, Novack grappled with the portrayal of Goldberg as a former waitress and hat-check girl who learned her values living through the Depression and working her way through college.

He told jurors in his closing he also loved grandmothers, saying, "I happen to be married to one."

But, he added, Goldberg was also a sophisticated, detail-oriented investor who signed a contract stipulating Trump could do what he did: cancel the profit-sharing plan anytime he saw fit.

An often-scowling Trump spent two days testifying himself, bragging about the quality of his developments, verbally sparring with an opposing attorney and drawing rebukes from the judge.

On the stand, Trump denied he ever cheated anyone. Off it, he blasted the woman who brought him there, telling reporters he was the victim, not her. He declared, "She's trying to rip me off."

Goldberg isn't the first to complain about a Trump development.

Dozens of investors in the Las Vegas' five-year-old Trump International Hotel & Tower sued Trump, alleging he manufactured "a purchasing frenzy" to get them to buy in before the property market collapsed.

An arbiter, though, sided with Trump in 2011, and U.S. District Judge Gloria M. Navarro in Las Vegas later refused the disgruntled investors' request to nullify the arbitration finding.

When Goldberg took the stand herself after Trump, she told jurors she initially had qualms about suing such an influential figure. But she added, "Somebody had to stand up to him."

Goldberg told jurors it was Trump's very star power that initially drew her toward investing with him. But it was the profit-sharing proposal that, for her, sealed the deal, she said.

During his testimony, Trump kept talking over Kulwin while Kulwin kept rolling his eyes at Trump's answers, prompting Judge Amy St. Eve to order both men to "stop boxing each other" and behave.

Trump's testimony offered a rare inside look at the business style of the 66-year-old who scrutinizes the competence of contestants carrying out management tasks on his TV show.

He told jurors that he signed every business check in his organization. He also said he couldn't remember when key business decisions were made because he and his top executives aren't in the habit of taking notes.

City pride also intervened at one point in closings when Kulwin made an unfavorable reference to executives in New York.

"Judge, he's mocking New York," Trump's attorney said, standing to object.

"I can't mock New York?" Kulwin shot back. "I thought it was every Chicagoans right to do that."

A total of 15 productions from seven countries are on tap from the city's first and only full-time performing arts theater for kids and their families.

"Bob Marley's Three Little Birds" is based on a story by Marley's daughter, Cedella, and features music by the legendary reggae artist. It will begin in February at the theater's home on Broadway.

The Fiasco Theater, known for its stripped-down takes on such shows as "Into the Woods" and "Cymbeline," will present their interpretation of "Measure for Measure." There's also a fresh take on Neverland that comes courtesy of the renowned Belvoir theater company of Sydney.

The New Victory will also present the American premiere of Circus Der Sinne's "Mother Africa" in December, featuring stilt walkers from Tanzania and a renowned contortionist from Kenya.

Other highlights include a "Sleeping Beauty" performed by marionettes from Italy's Carlo Colla & Sons Marionette Company, the genre-hopping Minnesota-based Rhythmic Circus' "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" and the return of the comic daredevil Bello Nock.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced Thursday that actor Jim Nabors will return to sing "Back Home Again in Indiana" during pre-race ceremonies for Sunday's 97th running of the 500. Nabors missed last year's race due to heart surgery, so a video of him performing the song at his home in Hawaii aired instead.

Nabors has performed in person at the race 33 times since 1972.

Florence Henderson, an Indiana native who played Carol Brady on TV's "Brady Bunch," traditionally sings "God Bless America" at the race but is ill this year and won't make the trip. Indiana singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin will perform the song in her place.

The only thing standing in her way at the moment is an elusive battery cover on a Fisher-Price mobile gym. Three screwdrivers later and she still can't figure out how to insert the batteries.

But everything else in Ling's zen-like home, a stone's throw from the beach in Santa Monica, is perfectly in order — including Ling, who appears completely at ease with new motherhood. The 39-year-old journalist and husband Paul Song welcomed their first child on March 8.

There's not a hair out of place as she rushes around assembling baby toys on the dining room table and tending to 9-week-old daughter Jett.

"That's why I have makeup caked on me because I am totally sleep-deprived!" joked Ling. "I love this experience and this journey that my husband and I are on. It is hard. I'm not going to say that there is anything easy about it, but I feel unstoppable. I'm determined to raise a strong girl."

She's also determined not to slow down. In a recent interview, Ling discussed why she's ready to get back to work, her Dove campaign to promote girl's self-esteem and if she's planning for baby No. 2...

AP: Why did you decide to get involved with Dove's "Let's Make Girls Unstoppable" initiative?

Ling: This campaign in particular really struck a chord with me, given the fact that I just gave birth to a baby girl. And even before I had her, I started to get really concerned about this world that she's growing up in, the kinds of images, the kinds of role models that she will be exposed to and that she will have.

AP: Did you ever struggle with self-esteem issues?

Ling: I started working in television quite young actually and I definitely felt very insecure about what I looked like. ... My first job in TV was hosting this young teen magazine show and all these high school teenagers showed up from all over Sacramento, Calif., and they chose four of us to host the show, two boys and two girls. And of the two girls, I was kind of the perky smart one and the other girl was the pretty one. It made me feel very insecure and I had to really work though that.

AP: How do you plan to raise a confident daughter?

Ling: My husband, for example, with our daughter, he tells her every time he sees her, 'you're beautiful, you're beautiful.' He wants her to hear from the most important man in her life that she's beautiful so she doesn't have to seek validation anywhere else. ... I'm determined to shower her with as much love as I can and expose her to as much diversity as I can.

AP: You say you're ready to get back on the road for your Oprah Winfrey Network series "Our America with Lisa Ling." Was returning to work ever a question in your mind?

Ling: Personally I've always known that I wanted to go back to work because I'm confident and I'm certain that my daughter will have a better mother in me if I'm doing the things that I'm excited about and that I'm passionate about. ... I'm proud of the work that I'm doing and I hope that my daughter will be proud of that too.

AP: Who was most responsible for instilling your sense of self-esteem?

Ling: My role model in life has been my grandmother, who passed away when I was 18-years-old. But she was someone who was educated at Cambridge in music and carried the weight of her family on her back and was just an intrinsically beautiful woman. ... I definitely hope that my daughter will see those kinds of qualities in me one day. Every decision I've made, I've always thought, 'is this something I can be proud of?' And now, all the decisions that I make I think, 'is this something that Jett will be proud of?' The kinds of role models and the kinds of women that she will eventually look up to and revere, I want those to be really strong women 'cause I want her to be a strong woman.

AP: So are you ready for baby No. 2?

Ling: We're just trying to figure out No. 1 for a while. We're going to see how it goes!

The revival of the Bertolt Brecht-Kurt Weill masterpiece "The Threepenny Opera" will be directed by Martha Clarke, an innovative choreographer and director whose best-known original work is "The Garden of Earthly Delights." It will be produced next spring.

The Atlantic's season will close next June with the world premiere of Guirgis' "Between Riverside and Crazy...," the story of a family's struggle to hold onto a rent stabilized apartment. The playwright rocketed to fame with the Tony-nominated "The Motherf----- With the Hat" starring Chris Rock and Bobby Cannavale.

Two final productions and casting for all the shows will be announced shortly.

Asked by Access Hollywood after the awards show what she and Gomez, 20 were whispering to each other while Bieber, 19 accepted two of his awards (during one, the "Take You" singer was met with boos from the audience), Swift, 23, was quick to answer.

When the reporter then suggested that Swift should write a song about it, she laughed before adding, "No it's not [me] … I'm fine!"

The country singer's comments come after a night full of Swift subtly hinting that she was no longer a fan of Gomez's former love. It seems that Swift, who used to openly share a friendship with Bieber (during her April 2011 concert in LA, she brought out Bieber to sing "Baby" with him and most recently, he Punk'd her on the March 2012 episode of the MTV show), has placed herself on Team Gomez indefinitely.

Case in point? Asked in the press room at the Billboard Awards on what she thought of Bieber winning the Milestone Award (which she also was nominated for), she skipped answering, instead asking, "Can we have another question?"

On the other hand, Swift was all smiles when talking about enjoying the show with Gomez, as the two were seen dancing throughout the night, especially during Jennifer Lopez's performance.

The YouTube video, released in December, quickly went viral and has now hit No. 1 on iTunes. With the help of director Justin Baldoni, Sobiech also filmed a 22-minute documentary, My Last Days: Meet Zach Sobiech.

"I want everyone to know, you don't have to find out you're dying to start living," Sobiech says in the video.

"My closure is being able to get my feelings into these songs so they can have something to remember me by or lean on when I'm gone," he explains of his album, Fix Me Up. "I want to be remembered as a kid who went down fighting, and didn't really lose."

Payne premiered his black-and-white follow-up to "The Descendants" on Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival, where the gentle tale drew largely enthusiastic reviews for both its warmth and its colorless cinematography.

"It just seemed like the right thing to do for this film," Payne told reporters Thursday at the French Riviera festival. "I always wanted to make a film in black and white. It's such a beautiful form. It really left our cinema because of commercial, not artistic reasons."

"This modest, austere story seemed to lend itself to being made in black and white," he added.

"Nebraska" stars Bruce Dern as an aging father, whose son (Will Forte) drives him from Montana to Nebraska to placate his father's delusional belief that he's won $1 million from a mass mailing.

Particularly in black and white, it's an unsentimental, melancholy portrait of a decaying American heartland — its drab bars, roadside motels and paint-chipped farm houses. In noting the appropriateness of black and white for such a landscape, Payne called the movie "a Depression-era film."

The approach — never seen as exactly a box-office draw — took negotiating with Paramount, which will release "Nebraska" in November.

"It took some discussions with the studio, Paramount in this case, to get them to agree to let me make it in black and white," Payne said. "We did settle on a budget less than it would have been had the film been in color, but still at a rate I felt comfortable to make a decent film."

The film marks a kind of homecoming for Payne, a Nebraska native, whose recent films have been set in Hawaii (the Oscar-winning "The Descendants") and California (the Napa Valley road trip "Sideways"). Payne's first three films ("Citizen Ruth," ''Election" and "About Schmidt") were all in his home state.

"If I weren't from Nebraska, I wouldn't have made this film at all, because I'm sure the script never would have come to me," Payne said, referring to Bob Nelson's screenplay. "If it were called 'Iowa,' maybe I would have gotten it."

Payne first read the script nine years ago.

"I had the script for this while I was making 'Sideways,' but I was so sick and tired of shooting in cars by the time 'Sideways' was finished, I didn't want to make this one right away," he said. "That's why it's been 10 years."

The last notable film in black and white to premiere at Cannes was the 2011 silent film ode and best-picture winning "The Artist." Payne's were from another movie era, though, taking inspiration from Peter Bogdanovich's stark 1970s black-and-white "Paper Moon" and "The Last Picture Show."

"One thing I like about this story is the son wishes to give the aging father some dignity," Payne said. "My parents are in the home stretch and that was very personal to me."

I'll get to court before 4 p.m. when it's REALLY over with.' And he just told me that I had to hand myself in, bond out, then they will drop my charges," she recalled. "I have no idea why in the world they did that to me to make myself end up in the media again for the wrong reasons."

Then he heard the faculty band at his daughter's school play the song and it all started to open up for him.

"I'm sitting there listening to it and I say to myself what I always say to myself, 'I want to cut this song,'" Rucker said. "I say it all the time but I never end up cutting anything. But with this song it was, 'All right, let's try it.' I didn't know how big it was until after I cut it, until after it was a single. I didn't know that every college student south of the Mason-Dixon Line in the last eight years knows this song. I had no idea. I thought it was just another Old Crow song until I recorded it and realized it wasn't just another Old Crow song."

So far, Rucker's version of "Wagon Wheel" is the most successful song of his country career. The cut from his third Nashville-recorded album, "True Believers," out this week, has sold nearly 1.2 million copies and sat atop the country charts for three consecutive weeks earlier this year.

It's another interesting chapter in the history of a song that's slowly working its way toward American classic status. Like "House of the Rising Sun" or "Good Night, Irene," it's now a pop song with a long back story that tantalizingly trickles out before you reach the wellspring.

Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show first encountered the song when his friend and future bandmate Chris "Critter" Fuqua brought home a Bob Dylan bootleg from a trip to London that contained an outtake from the singer's "Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid" soundtrack sessions called "Rock Me, Mama." It wasn't so much a song as a sketch, crudely recorded featuring most prominently a stomping boot, the candy-coated chorus and a mumbled verse that was hard to make out.

Dylan didn't claim authorship of the song. He cited Arthur Crudup's "Rock Me, Mama," but Crudup said he got the song from Big Bill Broonzy, who recorded it as "Rock Me Baby." Broonzy didn't claim ownership either and the trail dissolves there, lost to history.

A few months after first hearing "Rock Me, Mama," Secor was away from his native Virginia attending school in New Hampshire and feeling homesick for the South. He sat down and wrote a song about hitchhiking his way home full of romantic notions put in his head by the Beat poets and, most of all, Dylan.

"I listened to Bob Dylan and nothing else," Secor said. "Nothin' but Bob for four years. It was like schooling. Every album and every outtake of every album and every live record I could get my hands on and every show I could go see live. I was a teenager who was really turned on to Bob."

The song was an early entry in the group's catalog when it formed a few years later and was officially released twice, on an early EP and on its second album, 2004's "O.C.M.S." The song's popularity grew with each live show as fans enthusiastically sang along with that catchy chorus and with each fan video posted on the Internet. In the-little-engine-that-could style it attained gold status in November 2011, seven years after it became available digitally.

The story gets better. Over the next 13 months the song would go platinum as the band gained more popularity, thanks to years of hard work on the road, championed by Mumford & Sons and Rucker's decision to cover "Wagon Wheel," and has now up to 1.2 million copies sold and counting. Combining sales for Rucker and Old Crow's version, that's nearly 2.5 million copies sold.

"It's like having four aces in your pocket, that song," Secor said.

While the recorded version is rousing, nothing beats the sound of thousands of voices raised during a live concert. The chorus works its way into memory immediately, making it easy for even the newest of fans to join in.

"I find that the number of singers in the chorus makes it all the more exciting," Secor said. "That's what folk music is and this is a folk song. I think the thing that's interesting about 'Wagon Wheel' is that a folk song could be really popular in 2013. Every strike is against it. All the odds are against folk music, particularly one song rising up and having an impact."

The proof of a song's universality is its ability to jump between genres. Already presented in blues and folk versions, Rucker changed it yet again to fit his silky baritone and traditional country and classic rock influences. He invited in the trio Lady Antebellum to provide backing harmony, again changing the song in unexpected ways.

"It's such the perfect country song," Rucker said. "When we were cutting it, all we had (to model it on) was this perfect bluegrass song. I couldn't do it as a bluegrass song. It's just not me. So if we were going to do it, we had to make it a 1950s country song. I'm not shocked at how successful it's been, but I didn't expect it."

As the song itself inspires fans to raise their voices together, it's inspired Rucker and Secor to collaborate. OCMS recently joined Rucker on the Grand Ole Opry, where they got a standing ovation. And Rucker says when it's time to start working on country album No. 4, Secor's the first guy he's calling.

Secor thinks that kind of cross-pollination is an important legacy of the song as well and hopes the powers that be in mainstream country music are paying attention.

"Country music has made it damn near impossible to get a song like 'Wagon Wheel' into the arena," he said. "We're sitting out there on a side stage out in the parking lot somewhere. But this song managed to seep in somehow. As someone who's interested in seeing country music come around and look at its parentage and be a little more respectful to it, I'm really pleased that this song is helping to do that kind of work in Music City."

"I went from being fit to toned," Alameri explained of her workouts with a regular trainer and one who specializes in kickboxing. "I would rather eat salads for three meals a day and be able to eat dark chocolate," she tells Us.

On The Bachelor, Alameri would share her diet and fitness expertise with costar and pal Yenter. "I am used to having a personal trainer telling me what to do, so I would kind of just stand there [when we worked out during The Bachelor], look at Selma [and ask] 'What do I do now?'" In its ruling Thursday, the court accepted a claim by prosecutors that Maria Alekhina had systematically disobeyed prison authorities and failed to repent for her crime, Russian media reported.

Alekhina went on a hunger strike Wednesday after being barred from the court hearing in Perm province, and she ordered her defense not to participate.

Band members Alekhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Yekaterina Samutsevich gained worldwide notoriety last year when a Moscow court jailed them for two years for conducting a punk protest in Moscow's main cathedral.

Samtusevich was later released on appeal.

Alekina's lawyer said she would appeal Thursday's court's decision.

A court in the province of Mordovia denied Tolokonnikova parole last month.

But the film's lead actor, Adam Bakri, says the location or political motif isn't that important.

"The fact is that it is an international story, it happens in the West Bank but it doesn't even say in the film that it happens in the West Bank," he explained.

"So everybody can identify with it. Everybody can really go with it. I think it has a very strong political message but it is underneath, it is not straightforward, which I think is the genius of the film."

"Omar," which is being show in the "A Certain Regard" section of Cannes, is directed by Hany Abu-Assad, director of the 2005 film "Paradise Now," which won earned him an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe for best foreign film.

In his latest film, the Israeli-born director of Palestinian descent uses the political upheaval between Palestinians and Israel as the backdrop to a love story between characters Omar and Nadia. Omar must climb the separation wall between the Palestinian territories and Israel to see his love, and during one attempt, he is brutally attacked by an Israeli soldier. Afterward, he and his friends band together to kill an Israeli soldier in revenge, and the plot takes more twists.

Despite the political threads in the film, Abu-Assad said the film's romantic plot is the key component.

"I don't know anybody in this world who didn't enter the experience of being madly in love with someone. Me too. And I am always fascinated by how people lose themselves in this subject and how they become insecure. Actual insecurity is the reason why people are in love, but also why this love ends up very badly," he said.

"All love stories in history end up tragic, 'Romeo and Juliet,' 'Othello,' but also like in our modern history, 'Casablanca,' even the 'Titanic' you know, it is a tragic ending. 'In the Mood for Love,' that is a great love story," Abu-Assad continued. "All of these examples gave me the inspiration to do something about my version of love and betrayal but involved in a political thriller because I love political thrillers. These two genres I tried to mix in a way that could become an exceptional movie."

American-born actor Waleed F. Zuaiter is among the actors in "Omar" and also helped Abu-Assad get financing for the film. Abu-Assad has said it is the first film to be completely financed by Palestinians.

"I jumped into it head first, asked as many questions as I possibly could to learn things on the producer's side, and here we are," Zuaiter said.

Tributes poured in from France's political and cultural leaders for Moustaki. Among songs he wrote for Piaf was "Milord."

Moustaki told French radio RTL in December that he wanted to be buried in Alexandria, Egypt, where he was born in 1934, and where "there is a cemetery that is the cemetery of free thinkers, and it is there that I want to rest for eternity."

In letters dated Monday and posted online by the group's supporters, McCartney asks for parole to be granted to Maria Alekhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, currently serving two-year sentences for an impromptu protest in Moscow's main cathedral.

McCartney wrote that he was making the request "in a spirit of friendship for my many Russian acquaintances who, like me, believe in treating people - all people, with compassion and kindness."

The emails were presented by Brian Panish, an attorney for Jackson's mother in her lawsuit claiming AEG was negligent in hiring the personal physician who was later convicted of killing the pop superstar.

The lawsuit also says AEG pushed Jackson too hard despite signs that he was in poor health.

The emails were sent Jan. 28, 2009, roughly four months before the singer's death.

Bing: New Jackson molestation claim emerges

In the exchange, AEG Live General Counsel Shawn Trell told his boss that he was going to Jackson's home to sign contracts for the "This Is It" shows later that year in London.

Ted Fikre, the general counsel for Anschutz Entertainment Group, wrote back in two minutes.

"Does this mean you get to meet the freak?" Fikre replied, according to the emails.

"Apparently. Not sure how I feel about that. Interesting for sure, but kind of creepy," replied Trell, who had spoken approvingly while testifying on Tuesday about his only meeting with Jackson,

Katherine Jackson was seated in the front row of the courtroom when the emails were displayed, and she passed Trell on her way out at the end of the day. They did not acknowledge each other.

"That email just exemplifies that AEG had no respect for Mr. Jackson.," Panish said outside of court. "All he was was a vehicle to make money and to promote their concert business to catch up to Live Nation."

Live Nation is the chief rival of AEG Live.

Jessica Stebbins Bina, a trial defense lawyer for AEG, said the emails were shown merely to embarrass AEG.

"We are four weeks into trial and we have yet to hear one piece of substantive evidence," said Marvin S. Putnam, an attorney who is leading AEG's defense.

He said Katherine Jackson's lawyers have instead opted to attack AEG Live with "side issues and characterizations."

Panish said after court that he would show more evidence of AEG's disdain for Jackson.

His granddaughter Inga Miller says Miller died at his home in Orinda, Calif., on Wednesday following a brief illness.

Miller served with an elite Navy unit in the Pacific and took some of the first pictures of Hiroshima, Japan, after it was devastated by the first atomic bomb.

He returned home to his native Chicago and spent two years on the city's South Side capturing the experiences of black residents. The originals from his series called "The Way of the Northern Negro" are now held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum and the Smithsonian Institution.

Speaking about the problem in his much-talked-about interview for Esquire magazine's June/July issue, Pitt says that even if he's had a "real conversation" with someone, he'll forget what the person looks like almost as soon as he or she walks away. "So many people hate me because they think I'm disrespecting them," the actor confesses to the mag.

One year, in an attempt to remedy the situation, he tried just "copping" to the predicament and asking people to tell him where they'd met before. But that actually made things worse.

"People were more offended," he says. "Every now and then, someone will give me context, and I'll say, 'Thank you for helping me.' But I piss more people off. You get this thing, like, 'You're being egotistical. You're being conceited.' But it's a mystery to me, man. I can't grasp a face, and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view."

The actor -- who has six kids with fiancee Angelina Jolie -- says he plans to get tested for prosopagnosia, which affects painter Chuck Close and neuroscientist Oliver Sacks. But in the meantime, he's trying to minimize the number of people he offends by not going out as much. "That's why I stay at home," he says.

Not that he minds being holed up with his kids. Quite the opposite, in fact. "I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big," he tells Esquire of his home life.

"I wanted there to be chaos in the house," he continues. "There's constant chatter in our house, whether it's giggling or screaming or crying or banging. I love it. I love it. I love it. Soon the husband and wife will head off on their honeymoon, but they're still figuring out the details. "We're going to plan a trip to Hawaii. We're going in a couple of months," Bowden shared. "We don't have everything locked down yet. We wanted to decompress before going . . . It's too stressful for me, personally. It takes a lot of planning and I'm not that organized."

Instead, the actress is looking forward to attending some of her friends' weddings and bachelorette weekends this summer. She joked, "I feel like I'm an expert now."

You may know her best as Alex Dupre from "One Tree Hill," but after bidding farewell to the TV series, Jana Kramer has become one of country music's hottest new stars. This year she took home her first Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Female Artist and is nominated for not one, but two CMT Awards including Female Video of the Year and Breakthrough Video of the Year for her hit single "Why Ya Wanna Know." What a year! Wonderwall recently caught up with Jana to chat about grilling (she loves her steak!), preparing for tour with Blake Shelton and planning her wedding.

Wonderwall: Can you tell us about the Walmart Steak-Over Challenge?

Jana Kramer: "I'm really excited to host it -- I love a perfectly grilled Walmart USDA Choice Premium Steak! I think it's going to be a lot of fun and it's really great that all of the firefighters are coming in and I think it's kind of cool that I get to pick who the winner is, and I love grilling. If you could cook a steak for one country legend, who would it be for?

"[Laughs] Man, I would love to cook a steak for Garth Brooks. That would be pretty cool."

Who's the grill master at home. You or your fiance, Brantley Gilbert?

"I'm definitely more of the grill master because the other day I was like: 'Honey, let's grill out tonight.' And he was like: 'OK.' And then I was like: 'So did you turn the grill on.' And he was like: 'How do you turn it on?' And I was like: 'You did not just say that?' He doesn't even know how to turn the grill on, so I'm definitely more of the grill master."

Have you begun planning your wedding?

"We have! We're pretty much almost there. Just like little things that we have to do. But we're pretty much done."

What would your dream wedding be like?

"For Brantley and I, we're both very down home. We don't like anything very traditional. So it's going more like a fun party, hangout. I don’t want a stuffy wedding. I want it to be pretty and country and just chill."

You're heading on tour with Blake Shelton -- who's notorious for wanting to have a good time! Are you prepared for his crazy antics?

"Honestly ... I'm going to have to prepare my liver for that tour. But it's going to be really fun. He's a great guy. He's really fun to be around as well. It's just going to be a good time, but I'm going to see if I can try to prank him too, out there. That'd be pretty awesome."

Have you met Miranda Lambert yet?

"I have and she's a real sweetheart. I don't know her that well, but every time I've met her she's been really sweet."

What are your must-haves while on tour?

"Must-haves, let's see. My kickboxing gloves because I work out on the road and I love to box. So I have to have that. My yoga mat, to work out with. Let's see, my must-haves. I have to have one of my dogs out, either my puggle out with me, or my boxer. So Brantley and I rotate them -- which one's we have on the road with us."
