Before she broke bad with Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn was a student of stage and screen at the Santa Fe Preparatory School, with two teachers from the Actor’s Studio, at Northwestern University (She even won a coveted theatre department scholarship award in her junior year.) and for a semester at British American Drama Academy. Since graduation, she’s been seen in several small film roles (“Enemy Of The State,” “Red State”), treading the boards on Broadway (her debut was in 1996’s revival of “The Rehearsal”) and in an endless stream of guest appearances on popular shows including “Seinfeld,” “Chicago Hope,” “Judging Amy,” “Men Behaving Badly,” “Quantum Leap,” “Six Feet Under,” “Boston Legal” and “The Drew Carey Show.” Perhaps thanks to her memorable performance as a junkie who wanted to swim with dolphins on “NYPD Blue,” creator David Milch gave her what would become her breakout TV role as Martha Bullock on HBO’s “Deadwood” in 2005. Two years later, she joined another SAG nominated ensemble for five seasons as Skylar White, the wife of a cancer-stricken teacher turned meth kingpin. The mother of two girls, Emma (b. 2001) and Eila Rose (b. 2006) with ex-husband Alastair Duncan, was nominated in 2012 for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Emmy but she did not win the trophy until 2013.
