Ariel Winter

Spotlight

Her toddler desire to crawl into the TV and go exploring with cartoon adventurer Dora inspired her to pursue acting and it wasn’t long before she landed a Cool Whip commercial, a recurring role on “ER” and a part in the big-screen adaptation of “Speed Racer.” She’s best known for portraying the middle Dunphy child Alex on the awards bait known as “Modern Family,” but keeps almost as busy voicing Gretchen on “Phineas and Ferb,” Marina the Mermaid on “Jake and The Never Land Pirates” and the newest Disney princess “Sofia.” Her vocals can also be heard on numerous video games and soon, she hopes, on the radio as she is working on her debut solo CD. The dog lover and purple belt also has a band with her bestie called WickedSweet. Unfortunately things have turned ugly for Winter of late as her and her sister Shanelle Gray, who currently has court-granted guardianship of Winter, have hired lawyers and accused her mom Chrisoula Workman of emotional and physical abuse including denying food and slapping. Her mother has denied the claims and said Winter is doing this as retaliation for her disapproval of Winter’s relationship with an actor several years her senior, Cameron Palatas.
