Celeb Connections: 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon at the Emmys

By Melissa Hunter
Awards shows always are a great opportunity for celebs to get together with former co-stars and reminisce about projects past. And even though he rarely graces the small screen, Kevin Bacon still managed to be the most popular guy at the party.
There's this little cocktail party game known as Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, and on Sunday night, that game could have easily been played in one degree. Let's take a look at the fellow Emmy awards nominees and attendees that Bacon has worked with.

Fellow '80s actor Holly Hunter, and current star of "Saving Grace," had a part in 1987's "End of the Line," in which Kevin played a disgruntled railway worker. That's vintage Bacon right there.

It was only natural that Kyra Sedgwick, who was nominated for Best Actress in "The Closer," met her hubby Kevin on set. The two met when starring in the 1988 PBS version of the play "Lemon Sky" and have been together ever since.

Back in their early '90s heyday, "24" star Kiefer Sutherland starred in both "Flatliners" and "A Few Good Men" with Kevin Bacon. That's a whole mess of badass right there.

Prior to starring in "The Starter Wife," Debra Messing was in this little show called "Will & Grace." Bacon had a pretty epic guest starring role in which he played himself and Jack was his stalker. He did the "Footloose" dance and everything. I highly recommend Netflixing it.

Before he was the dashing, gray-haired co-star of "Mad Men," John Slattery was the dashing, gray-haired co-star of "Sleepers" with Kevin in 1996, along with every other actor in the business.

"Weeds" Best Supporting Actress nominee Elizabeth Perkins starred in the campy rom com "He Said, She Said" with Kevin in 1991. Don't think you can sweep that one under the rug, Liz.

Marcia Gay Harden, who was nominated for her work in "The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler," starred opposite Kevin in "Mystic River" in 2003, and the lesser-known (but equally depressing) "Rails & Ties" in 2007.

Dianne Wiest was nominated for HBO's "In Treatment," but back in the day she was singing and dancing, or rather, not doing either of those things by law in "Footloose" opposite an in-his-prime Kevin Bacon.

Christian Clemenson was nominated for his role in "Boston Legal," but you may also recognize him as a Bacon co-star from "Apollo 13." Or not. He had a really small part.
