Chaz Bono was granted a legal gender and name change in a Santa Monica, Calif. court Thursday, reports TMZ.

According to documents filed in March, Chaz's doctor said he "completed his gender reassignment surgery," through an "irreversible" procedure changing his "sex characteristic from female to male."
Chaz, formerly known as Chastity, is the son of Cher and Sonny Bono, and appeared on a season of VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club."
