  • Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham has asked her best pal, Eva Longoria, to be her daughter Harper's godmother.

    The "Desperate Housewives" star says she's "honored" to take on the special role and will fly to the U.K. later this summer to stand by as the tot is christened in her superstar parents' native Britain.

    Longoria tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "Victoria asked me to be Harper's godmother and of course I said yes. I'm absolutely thrilled. Harper is simply adorable."

    Harper Seven, the Beckhams' fourth child and first daughter, was born in Los Angeles last July.
