Golden Globes Name 'The Social Network,' 'The King's Speech' and 'The Fighter' Top Contenders

In yet another example of art reflecting life, one of the biggest movies of the season revolved around social media. "The Social Network" was nominated for six Golden Globe Awards: Best Motion Picture -- Drama, Best Screenplay -- Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture -- Drama, Best Performance by an Actor In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture, Best Director -- Motion Picture, and Best Original Score - Motion Picture.

The top nominated film with seven nominations is "The King's Speech" -- Best Motion Picture -- Drama, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture -- Drama, Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role In A Motion Picture, Best Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role In A Motion Picture, Best Director -- Motion Picture, Best Screenplay -- Motion Picture and Best Original Score -- Motion Picture.

Celebrity announcers Blair Underwood, Katie Holmes and Josh Duhamel kept the Golden Globe nominations light this morning in Hollywood.

When announcing Best Original Song -- Motion Picture, Blair introduced one nominee, saying, "My cousin Carrie Underwood. What? It could happen." The singer is up for Best Original Song -- Motion Picture for "There's A Place for Us" from "Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader." Other noms were "Bound to You" from "Burlesque," "Coming Home" from "Country Strong" and "I See the Light" from "Tangled."

"Black Swan" lived up to the hype, earning nominations for Best Motion Picture -- Drama, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture -- Drama, Best Performance by an Actress In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture and Best Director -- Motion Picture.

Hollywood elite worked their way to the top of the list, with A-List stars like Angelina Jolie, James Franco, Anne Hathaway, Michael Douglas, Geoffrey Rush and double-nominee Johnny Depp all being named contenders for an award for their performances this past year.

Reflecting today's trend towards self-acceptance and supporting uniqueness, critical and fan fave "Glee" earned five nominations: Best Television Series -- Comedy or Musical, Best Performance By An Actress In A Television Series -- Comedy Or Musical (Lea Michele), Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series -- Comedy Or Musical (Matthew Morrison), Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role In A Series, Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made For Television (Jane Lynch) and Best Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role In A Series, Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made For Television (Chris Colfer).
