Joel McHale Twitterview

By Cindy Joung and Michelle Lanz
Wonderwall has a confession to make: We absolutely love "Community" star Joel McHale. The busy host of "The Soup" and co-star of "The Informant" graciously agreed to join us for his first ever Twitterview, and, despite bloodied fingertips (or so he claimed), he told us all about working with Matt Damon, making fun of reality stars and his recent run-in with a box of Lucky Charms.
Check out the exclusive Twitterview with Joel, then follow @WonderwallMSN and @joelmchale for more laughs.

@WonderwallMSN: hello, @joelmchale! ready for your first Twitterview?
@joelmchale: almost ready
@WonderwallMSN: we'll just wait patiently ... ready now?
@joelmchale: ready! Man, I hope I'm doing this right
![@WonderwallMSN: great!! so, we're loving your new show on nbc. which character in Community do you think you were most like at UDub [University of Washington]?@joelmchale: Oh boy. @WonderwallMSN: great!! so, we're loving your new show on nbc. which character in Community do you think you were most like at UDub [University of Washington]?
@joelmchale: Oh boy. I'm going to go with Annie because in college I was a woman.

@WonderwallMSN: hah! is that an exclusive reveal? You played football in college, will we see any field time on Community?
@joelmchale: You wouldn't want to see me play now. There would be a lot of pulled muscles and tears.

@WonderwallMSN: Let's talk Abed ... as Batman. Did he just bust that out or was it written into the script?
@joelmchale: The Batman stuff was all scripted. You witnessed the genius of Danny Pudi. The man is incredible. He nailed the Christian Bale voice perfectly. He a comic master and a terrific guy.

@WonderwallMSN: It was also great to see your character Jeff spend some QT with Abed this week. Do you have any funny roommate memories?
@joelmchale: Well, here's memory from taping that episode. Danny (Abed) and I had to eat lucky charms in a couple of scenes. It took about 4 hrs. to shoot so we both ate nearly 2 boxes a piece of Cereal. I love Lucky charms but after two boxes your world begins to get pretty scary. We felt sick but I still love LCs.
@WonderwallMSN: They truly are magically delicious!

@WonderwallMSN: Let's talk about another project of yours ... the informant! As a comedian was it hard to play the straight man to a bumbling Matt Damon, esp among so many great comedic actors?
@joelmchale: Hard no. Intimidating to be working with Steven Soderbergh and Matt Damon...at first..yes. Mr. Damon is such a good person and was very welcoming to all the actors that you forget about the situation (making a movie-and you could just play). Playing the character I played was a blast because I never get to do stuff like that. By the way, Matt Damon gained like 30 pounds for the role and still looked better than everyone else. Makes me sick.
@WonderwallMSN: it seemed like you were having fun. it was a great flick!
@joelmchale: Thanks. It was a blast and a dream come true to work with such good people. I wish I could do it again although my hair wouldn't stand for it.

@joelmchale: I love how no one can believe I'm responding. Either can I!
@WonderwallMSN: You're a man of the people. it's your duty to respond! :)
@joelmchale: Believe me this is the first time that I'm seriously doing this. My fingers aren't used to it. They're bloodied.

@WonderwallMSN: give us the dish on The Soup. ever have any awkward run ins with people you've made fun of on the show?
@joelmchale: Not yet. In fact, every single reality star (are they really stars?) I've run into has told me to make more fun of them.

@WonderwallMSN: well, that's good, though we were hoping for a good cat fight story ... speaking of cats ... who do you think would win in a meme-boxing match, Stains the cupcake-obsessed dog or Spaghetti Cat?
@joelmchale: I'm going to go with Stains since stains is an actual dog that I know. We only have a photo of Spaghetti cat. Then again, if you put cupcakes in front of Stains then it's anybody's ball game.
@WonderwallMSN: true. we'll have to figure out a way to stage this like one of those discovery shows where they pit sharks against dinosaurs
![@WonderwallMSN: so we have to ask ... how do you feel about Topanga from Boy Meets World being your doppelganger on The Dish?@joelmchale: Danielle Fishel is terrific and easy on the eyes to boot. She very funny and talented [sic].@WonderwallMSN: that was very diplomatic of you. :)](http://static.wonderwall.com/Photos/Original/17204_Original.jpg)
@WonderwallMSN: so we have to ask ... how do you feel about Topanga from Boy Meets World being your doppelganger on The Dish?
@joelmchale: Danielle Fishel is terrific and easy on the eyes to boot. She very funny and talented [sic].
@WonderwallMSN: that was very diplomatic of you. :)

@WonderwallMSN: People mag will be announcing the Sexiest Man Alive soon. Think you have a shot of taking the title from Hugh Jackman? Our money is on you :)
@joelmchale: Thanks like better on the Washington Generals to beat the Harlem Globe Trotters. I hope you didn't bet a lot. ... You must have really bad eye sight. ... All men in the world would have to die and then and only then could I become the sexiest man alive.
@WonderwallMSN: see! so there is a chance! nothing is impossible
@joelmchale: I think I have a chance to become People's Pastiest Man Alive.

@WonderwallMSN: last question and we'll let you go...
@joelmchale: No worries. Ask away. This is the 1st time I've ever responded to tweeters so I'm having fun.
@WonderwallMSN: glad that you're having fun! you should do this more often. your fans would love it!

@WonderwallMSN: We see that you like Dirty Jobs? Have you ever met Mike Rowe? What's your favorite dirty job so far?
@joelmchale: I've never met Mike Rowe. Such a good host. Although there have been grosser jobs the one where he had to clean out ... two feet deep rat droppings from an attic was terrifying.
@WonderwallMSN: Gross!
@joelmchale: Yeah, it was bad. They were breathing it in. The rat droppings fused with the insulation. I can't even think about this.

@joelmchale: Great to chat with you. You've changed my world. I've never responded to tweets before. My fingers are mad at me. They've never typed so much.
@WonderwallMSN: they'll get over it. they always do. good luck with community and we hope to see a lot more of you!
@joelmchale: Thanks for the interview. Watch Community on NBC, Thursdays, 8:00pm everyone! Thanks for following!
