Maria Menounos has good reason to hate doctors visits.
During a chat with Howard Stern Monday (via the New York Daily News), the former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant opened up about being sexually abused not once, but twice, by two separate doctors.
She explained to Stern that years ago, she made an appointment to have a sore throat checked out. Once inside the exam room, Menounos said she was asked to change into a hospital gown -- at which point the doctor began groping her genitals.
"I was really young, so I was uncomfortable," the 34-year-old "Extra" correspondent revealed. "(My boyfriend) Kevin was in the waiting room and I literally started screaming. ... I was just so uncomfortable I didn't know what to do."
Despite the serious nature of the abuse, Menounos said she decided to not press charges because she didn't want to make the situation worse, or drag it out any longer.
The TV host also talked about being abused during a gynecological exam. The physician attending her told her he liked her belly-button piercing -- and then began touching it.
After both horrifying encounters, Menounos confessed she has a serious phobia of doctors. Now, whenever she needs treatment -- for any ailment -- she asks her boyfriend to accompany her into the exam room.
