    "I embarrassingly love blond men: hot pinups like Chris Evans and Chris Pine," she explained. "I feel like people expect me to have an edgy choice, like Justin Theroux, and I'm just like, 'Nope! I want Captain America!'"

    Like her unlucky-in-love ob-gyn alter ego on the freshman comedy series, Kaling is a big fan of romantic comedies. "We both have an encyclopedic knowledge of romantic Tom Hanks movies!" the single star confessed.

    Of course, there is one major difference between Kaling and the character she portrays. "I'm a lot more square than her. I've never drank the way she does," the "Office" alumna told Us. "I'm really a nerd. I go to bed pretty early. Even when I went to Dartmouth -- which is a pretty big drinking school -- I never took part in anything like that. I was too scared of my parents' reaction."

    "The Mindy Project," co-starring Chris Messina and Ed Weeks, premiered Sept. 25 at 9:30 p.m. on FOX.
