Oprah Winfrey to sell farm food in Hawaii

  • Oprah Winfrey is expanding her business empire by taking up farming.

    The media mogul, who owns a large estate on the Hawaiian island of Maui, has filed trademark applications so she can start selling an organic food and drink line.

    The names include Oprah's Organics, Oprah's Farm and Oprah's Harvest, but a representative for the star insists the products will be available only in Hawaii.

    The spokesperson tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "The trademarks were filed for Oprah's farm on Maui to enable the farm to grow and distribute produce on Maui and throughout the Hawaiian Islands."

    Winfrey's business empire currently includes her OWN TV network, a magazine publishing house, a lifestyle website and a radio channel.
