The search for Jessica Simpson's beloved maltipoo Daisy appears to be over. TMZ says the starlet, who endearingly held out hope (despite the "ass---s" who mocked her) of locating her furry, four-legged BFF after a coyote snatched the pup as she looked on, has ended the hunt after an exhaustive search that included bringing out tracking dogs and having the pet-locator service Find Toto contact hundreds of her neighbors for any possible sightings. "They wanted to feel they gave it their best efforts. They felt chances were slim from the beginning," a Find Toto rep tells E! News. "They were upset and hoping to find at least the remains to try and get some closure by this weekend." No word on whether Jess, who received Daisy as a gift from onetime husband Nick Lachey, will take the advice of an insensitive, blame-laying Martha Stewart and "get another dog."
