Sofia Vergara: Engaged on Her 40th Birthday!

Did Sofia Vergara unwrap a shiny new rock for her ring finger on the eve of her 40th birthday? All signs point to YES!

A source tells Wonderwall that Vergara’s boyfriend, Nick Loeb, gave Vergara an engagement ring in Mexico, where the actress has been celebrating her milestone birthday with close friends and family. She turned 40 on Tuesday.

"She is engaged," a source close to Vergara tells Wonderwall.

Backing up the good news, Vergara was pictured on Monday night toasting the birthday of close friend Fernando Fiore, with whom she worked on the show "Fuera de Serie." In a photo posted on Fiore's Twitter account, Vergara is seen with a sizable sparkler on her engagement finger.

Requests for comment from both Vergara's rep and Loeb have not yet been returned.

Not everyone is so thrilled about the engagement news. "She's the nicest, sweetest, kindest person on the Earth, but she has a thing for bad boys," said the source. "And she found one with him." Vergara previously dated bad boy Chris Paciello.

Vergara started dating the Florida-based businessman Loeb in February 2010. Six months later he was injured in a car accident. In September 2010, rumors first surfaced that they were engaged, but both denied any plans to walk down the aisle.

After two years of dating, they split up briefly in May. "They've been fighting for a long time," a source told the New York Daily News at the time of the split. A month later they were back together, spotted in New York City at nightclub WIP, Soho House and Bagatelle.

The marriage would be the second for the "Modern Family" star. She was married to Joe Gonzalez, who she started dating when she was 16 years old, from 1991 to 1993. The couple had one child together, son Manolo. Keep clicking to see more photos of Vergara and Loeb!
