The Jan. 27 arrival of Sadie Grace into Christina Applegate's world officially marked a new phase of the actress' life -- a phase in which she defines herself first as a mother, rather than a cancer survivor. "I've had to talk about that word [cancer] more than I've ever had to talk about a word in my life," the 39-year-old tells People in this week's cover story. "After a while you're like, 'There's got to be something else to me' ... now I'm Mom. She's healed me in so many ways. She's just made my life so much better. She's opened my whole soul." Applegate, who has been cancer-free since undergoing a double mastectomy in 2008, is engaged to Sadie's dad, musician, Martyn LeNoble. (People)
