Chelsea Handler may not get why everybody thinks she's so mean, but after her recent appearance on Rosie O'Donnell's show, at least one group of folks have a few thoughts on the matter. During Chelsea's interview, the conversation turned to ... little people. Because, why not? Asked if she'd ever "do a little person," Chelsea remarked, "No, that would be child abuse. I'd never do that." She would, however, like to jump on one. "I love little people," Handler exclaimed. "I want to tackle them. I see them and I want to hold myself down. I bite [comedian] Chuy [Bravo] sometimes. ... If you're going to have a little person, I want that shape, the corpulence." The dwarfism support group, Little People of America, however, could do without Chelsea's misplaced affection. "Handler used a lot of 'pity rhetoric' when discussing Chuy, saying he couldn't get a job if not for her," says the group's spokesperson, Leah Smith. "For the record, we're not in need of 'getting saved.' We are capable of being successful in any job." Rosie O'Donnell, who also made offensive comments during the segment, received a separate berating for her behavior. (HuffPo)
